XLPE-insulated armoured cable is the standard choice for underground power distribution, building supplies and industrial plants. The cross-linked polyethylene insulation carries more current than PVC and runs at up to 90 °C.
The steel armour protects the cable against mechanical damage and pulling forces, so it can be laid directly in the ground, in trenches, tunnels or ducts. Sheath options include flame-retardant, low-smoke halogen-free, UV-resistant and anti-termite compounds.
