Aerial bundled cable (ABC) combines the insulated phase conductors, the messenger/neutral and a street-lighting core into one twisted bundle. It is hung directly on poles and replaces bare conductors in low-voltage networks.
Because every core is insulated, ABC greatly reduces short circuits from trees and wind, electricity theft and fire risk, and needs less pole space and maintenance. The carbon-black XLPE insulation is made for long outdoor exposure to sun and weather.
