NYY is the German (VDE) designation for a robust PVC-insulated and PVC-sheathed power cable. It is used for power distribution in buildings, industrial plants and outdoor installations, and can be laid in air, in cable trays, in ducts or directly in the ground where no mechanical damage is expected.
The NYY-J version contains a green/yellow protective earth core; NYY-O is supplied without one.
